2019 Pac-12 Javelin Runner-Up
2019: Broke through midway through his senior season with a series of PRs in the javelin that propelled him to his first NCAA Championships and an All-America First Team honor β¦ finished eighth at the NCAA Championships in Austin to score one point for the Dawgs with a best throw of 232-feet, 10-inches β¦ was the Pac-12 Championships runner-up, as he took the lead with a PR of 241-6 on his final attempt but was passed on the final throw of the competition β¦ that 241-6 PR ranks him fifth in school history in the javelin β¦ advanced through NCAA Prelims in second-place overall with a big first attempt mark of 239-3 β¦ first big breakthrough came at the National Relays in Arkansas where he upped his PR by 13 feet with a throw of 236-6 β¦ prior to that his career-best was set in the season-opener at the Stanford Invite where he threw 223-8 for second β¦ won the UW-WSU Dual with a toss of 219-9.
2018: Raised his personal-best in the javelin once again and had a career-best finish at the Pac-12 meet β¦ won the UW-WSU Dual with a new PR of 222-8 β¦ at the Pac-12 Championships, was fourth in the javelin, sending it 216-1 β¦ qualified for NCAA West Preliminaries once again, finishing 19th overall with a best of 212-7 β¦ opened the season with a victory at the Trojan Invitational, throwing 215-2 β¦ also threw 216-11 at the Beach Invitational and 210-4 at the Stanford Invitational β¦ a Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.
2017: Returned to action and raised his career-best in the javelin while scoring at the Pac-12 Championships for the first time β¦ at the Pac-12 meet, took sixth overall with a best mark of 212-feet even β¦ tossed a new PR of nearly eight feet at the UW-WSU Dual as he threw 220-4 to finish second to teammate Carson Fuller β¦ qualified for the NCAA West Prelims in Austin, Texas, finishing 24th overall with a mark of 205-10 β¦ first meet back was the Trojan Invitational where he finished second with a throw of 212-5 β¦ earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.
2016: Redshirted the season while recovering from an injury.
2015: A key part of UWβs talented javelin crew in his first season, traveling to the Pac-12 Championships and earning a top-10 finish β¦ at the Pac-12 meet in Los Angeles, he threw 203-5 to finish in ninth-place β¦ best throw of the season came in the UW-WSU Dual where he took second overall with a toss of 212-6 β¦ also went over 200-feet at the season-opening Baldy Castillo Invite, where he threw 203-7 β¦ won the Ken Shannon Invite javelin throw at 190-8 β¦ had a best mark of 197-1 at the Triton Invitational.
High School and Personal: Born in Seattle β¦ parents are Monique Bloedel and Jim Patricelli β¦ father and both grandfathers attended UW ... grandfather Ron Patricelli competed on the UW track & field team and grandfather, Elmen (Red) Bloedel, played basketball at Portland and obtained his Masters in EE at UW β¦ one of the top javelin throwers in the nation, winning every meet he competed in as a senior on his way to winning the 2014 4A Washington state title with a throw of 204-6 β¦ ranked No. 8 nationally with a PR of 210-3 β¦ also threw an even 200-feet to win the 2014 district title β¦ also won the state title as a junior in 2013 with a big throw of 205-7 β¦ also ran on both relays, making it to state on the 4x400m relay as a junior β¦ won the 2011 Junior Olympic Nationals javelin title in Wichita, Kansas with a toss of 191-4 β¦ earned a win at the 2013 World Youth Championship Trials in Illinois, throwing 221-5 with the lighter implement β¦ also lettered in football, earning SPSL All-League offense and defense honors as a senior β¦ a 2014 U.S. Marines Student-Athlete Award winner β¦ graduated with a 3.42 GPA.
