High School and Personal: Born in Bellevue, Washington β¦ parents are Nina David and Robert Smith β¦ has one younger sister, Julia β¦ mother also studied at Washington β¦ one of the top distance runners in Washington, capped her high school career with a third-place finish at the 2017 3A state track meet in the 1,600-meters, and also was fifth in the 3,200-meters and 12th in the 4x400m relay β¦ broke five minutes for the first time in the 1,600m state final, running 4:59.69 β¦ was the KingCo 3A champion at 1,600-meters and 3,200-meters as a senior and runner-up in both events as a junior β¦ in cross country, was third at the 3A Washington state championships as a senior in 2016 after winning the KingCo league title β¦ was 19th overall at the 2016 BorderClash cross country race β¦ also lettered two years in basketball and earned Most Inspirational and Most Improved awards β¦ earned the KingCo Sportsmanship Award.
