2016: A strong comeback season after missing the previous year, scoring at Pac-12s and finishing top-20 in the West in the 800-meters β¦ at the Pac-12 Championships in Seattle, made the 800-meter final by running 1:49.63 in the prelims, and then posted a season-best 1:49.03 in the finals to finish sixth overall β¦ placed 16th overall out of the field of 48 at the West Prelims meet in Kansas, going 1:49.31 in his final race as a Husky β¦ ran for the wire to wire win at the UW-WSU Dual going 1:50.59 β¦ also clocked a 1:50.14 at the Pepsi Team Invitational, finishing sixth β¦ ran on the 4x400m relay at Pac-12s that placed seventh in 3:12.89 β¦ indoors, was 10th at the MPSF Championships at 800-meters in 1:51.89 and ran the 800m leg on the distance medley relay that was sixth in 9:53.42 β¦ top indoor time was 1:51.81 at the Husky Classic.
2015: Redshirted the outdoor season, competing just once unattached at the Stanford Invitational where he ran an 800-meters in 1:52.27 β¦ indoors, competed at two meets, running a 600-meters in 1:23.12 and running on one DMR and 4x400m relay.
2014: A breakout season for the junior, as he nabbed the Pac-12 title at 800-meters, leading wire to wire to cross first in a time of 1:49.86, the first 800m champion for UW since Ryan Brown in 2007 ... reached the NCAA Outdoor 800-meters final, taking eighth to earn First Team All-America honors ... raced his way to his first individual NCAA appearance by winning his West Prelims first round heat in 1:49.18 and then taking third in his quarterfinal in a new PR of 1:48.03, followed by a second-place finish in the semifinals in Eugene in 1:48.77 ... that new career-best moves him up to No. 4 on the Husky top-10 lists ... went on to run at his first USA Outdoor Championships, finishing 23rd overall in the first round in 1:50.14 ... was second to teammate Izaic Yorks in the 800m run at the UW-WSU Dual Meet, running a then-PR of 1:48.49 ... helped the Huskies to a Drake Relays victory in the 4x800-meter relay, as the team held off Arkansas in 7:18.50 ... opened outdoor season with a fourth-place finish at the Stanford Invite in 1:49.55 ... indoors, earned his first All-America honor as he ran the 800-meter leg on the Husky distance medley relay, which finished eighth at the NCAA Indoor Championships ... the DMR also captured the MPSF conference title in 9:31.82, the second-fastest time in school history and the time that qualified them for NCAAs ... was sixth in the MPSF at 800-meters in 1:50.40 ... lowered his indoor 800m PR to 1:49.00, taking third at the Husky Classic, and moving to No. 3 on the indoor top-10 ... opened the year running his only mile of the year, setting a PR of 4:08.41 at the UW Invitational ... was named the Men's Track Athlete of the Year at the team postseason awards banquet.
2013: The top 800-meter runner on the squad, getting a late start to his season but running very well over the final few weeks β¦ qualified for the NCAA West Prelims in Austin, placing 32nd overall in the first round with a time of 1:50.66 β¦ first race of the year was an unattached run at the Oregon Relays, taking second in a time of 1:50.07 β¦ after that race, he suited up for the first time at the UW-WSU Dual meet, and won a thrilling 800m battle by a split second over WSUβs Jesse Jorgensen in 1:50.14 β¦ dropped his PR down to 1:49.52 in a victory at the Ken Shannon Invite β¦ just missed the final at the Pac-12 Championships, running 1:51.01 in the prelims β¦ also subbed in on the 4x400m relay at NCAA West Prelims as the team ran 3:12.39 ...Β (2012 Cross Country): Ran once unattached in the fall, placing 50th overall at the Sundodger Invitational.
2012: Ran the fastest time on the squad in the half-mile in his first season, posting a 1:51.41 at the UW-WSU Dual meet to finish second ... that was his breakout race, but he was banged up down the stretch and ran just once more ... went 1:54.87 in the 800m at the Mt. SAC Relays ... ran on the 4x400m relay at the UW-WSU Dual (3:16.53) and at the Pepsi Team Invitational (3:15.39) ... one open 400-meters, clocking 50.70 seconds at the Beach Invite ... indoors, ran three times, including a pair of relay races and an 800m time of 1:54.25 at the UW Invitational.
High School and Personal: One of the top mid-distance runners in the country, he capped his prep career with a second-place finish in the 800m at the 2011 U.S. Junior Championships, running a PR in the final of 1:50.05 ... that qualified him for Team USA which competed at the 2011 Junior Pan-Am Championships ... as a senior he was the Washington 4A runner-up at state, clocking 1:50.26 in the final, and also took fourth in the 400-meter final ... ran a 400m PR of 48.71 in the 2011 state meet prelims ... won the 4A state title at 800-meters as a sophomore in 2009, running 1:52.57 in the finals ... also took second in the 400-meter final in 2009, clocking 49.04 seconds ... placed eighth in the 800-meter finals at state as a junior, after suffering a pulled hamstring in the prelims ... ran on 4x400m relay that made it to state in every one of his four seasons, including a second-place finish in 2011 as a senior ... had a great final cross country season, especially for a mid-distance runner, as he took 21st at the 4A state cross country championships in 2010 ... was 68th at cross country state as a junior in 2009 ... competed at the 2011 Brooks PR Invite at the Dempsey, placing ninth in the 800-meters.
