Washington Hosts Boise State On Sunday

SEATTLE – No. 22 Washington women's tennis hosts Boise State on Sunday at the Nordstrom Tennis Center. The match is set to begin at 11 a.m. PT.

The Dawgs were last in action at Hawaii on Jan. 14, opening the season with a 5-2 victory. Erika Matsuda, Reece Carter and Marie Weissheim earned wins in both their singles and doubles matches. Waverly Potter made her dual debut at the No. 6 singles spot.
This fall, five Dawgs made the NCAA Singles & Doubles Individual Championship in Carter (singles), Alexia Jacobs (doubles), Matsuda (singles & doubles), Carina Syrtveit (doubles) and Weissheim (doubles). Matsuda became the 11th Husky all-time to compete in both singles and doubles.
Washington is 10-2 all-time against the Broncos. The two programs last met in 2024 in Seattle with the Huskies coming away with a 6-1 victory.
In the ITA rankings, Carter and Matsuda rank 43rd and 66th respectively in singles while Matsuda and doubles partner Syrtveit are 67th.
Boise State enters the contest with a 1-0 record after defeating Idaho State last weekend. The Broncos are the defending Mountain West Champions, winning their first title since 2010. Boise State returns a pair of All-Mountain West honorees in Zdena Safarova, Paula Schaefer and Masa Viriant.
