March 29, 2026 | Men's Tennis
MADISON, Wisc. - The University of Washington Men's Tennis Team drops Big Ten match 4-0 to No. 34 Wisconsin this afternoon. With this result, Washington is now (8-1) on the season and (2–5) from Big Ten play. The Huskies return home weekend with a pair of matches against Michigan State and Michigan.
After going down in the doubles match, No. 89 duo Brett Pearson and Soham Purohit won their match to even out the score line 1-1, leaving Huskies No. 3 duo Rohan Belday and Stephane Kamendje with the opportunity to give the Huskies the early match lead. However, Rohan and Steph would drop the match 7-5, in an impressive showing against the Badgers.
Moving to the singles matchups, Nikola Plavsic would make the start, his third at the No. 6, taking over for duos partner Daniel Bien. Set one would see two Huskies emerge victorious, with Stephane Kamendje and Soham Purohit capturing wins over the Badgers.
Of note, the performance by Stephane this afternoon was against the No. 75 ranked Michael Minasyan, in which Steph would hold his own before the match was called as he was up 4-2 in the second set after winning the first 7-5. Additionally, Hyeonseok Seo, the freshman who cliched the upset in Friday night's Nebraska upset, would be leading in set two, 5-2.
