SEATTLE – The outdoor floodgates open this week for the Husky track and field teams, as UW takes a nearly full squad to the Stanford Invitational for two jam-packed days of action this Friday and Saturday. All that's missing from the Bay Area trip is a handful of pole vaulters, as three vaulters are headed to the Texas Relays to compete on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
Stanford's annual two-day meet takes place at Cobb Track & Angell Field. The first Huskies in action on Friday will start at 10 a.m. and the last man standing won't go until 10:36 p.m. with the last section of the men's 10,000-meters. Saturday, the first Dawgs start at 1 p.m. and things wrap up around 5:30 p.m. No live stream will be available.
At Texas, Husky pole vaulters James Rhoads, Sara Borton, and Veronica Vacca will compete on Saturday.
All of Washington's All-America distance runners from the indoor championships are set to make their outdoor season debuts this week at Stanford, including Mia Cochran, Julia David-Smith, Chloe Foerster, Jenica Swartz, Chloe Symon, Chloe Thomas, Tyler Bilyard, Thom Diamond, Jamar Distel, Evan Jenkins, Josiah Tostenson, and Reuben Reina. The meet will also see the first 2026 competition for a quartet of javelin throwers: Carson Olmstead, Saydi Orange, Ashley Schroeder, and Leonie Troeger.
