SEATTLE – The No. 22 softball team (34-14, 15-5 Big Ten) fell to the 7^th-ranked UCLA Bruins Saturday afternoon 2-7 at Husky Softball Stadium.

UCLA clinched the series win on Saturday as the Huskies drop to 15-5 in conference play and 11-2 at home this season.

It was Alumni Day at Husky Softball Stadium on Saturday, as Washington recognized former Husky greats in a pregame ceremony on the field. First ever UW softball head coach Teresa Wilson threw out the ceremonial first pitch, undoubtedly a strike.

Washington got on the board first in game two. Alexis DeBoer and Jadyn Glab drew walks in the bottom of the first, followed by an Ava Carroll RBI double that scored DeBoer from second.

A UCLA home run in the top of the second put the Bruins on top 2-1, but Gabi Toney quickly evened things up at 2-2 with a solo homer, her sixth of the season.

UCLA took charge in the third inning, scoring four runs and ballooning the score to a 6-2 Bruin advantage. UCLA recorded two solo home runs and scored two more on a Husky throwing error.

Washington held UCLA to just two hits through the next three innings as both teams were held scoreless until UCLA delivered another solo shot in the top of the seventh.

The final home game for the Huskies and the final game of the series will begin Sunday, April 26 at 1 p.m., when the Dawgs will honor and celebrate Sophia Ramuno for Senior Day.
