Huskies Fall To No. 13 Oregon In Game Two

SEATTLE – Washington jumped in front early, but ultimately fell to No. 13 Oregon, 10-4 at Husky Ballpark.

Washington moves to 20-26 and 9-14 in Big Ten play.

The Huskies came out hot. Jackson Hotchkiss belted a solo shot in the first inning to put the Dawgs in the lead, 1-0.

It was the sophomore's 15th home run of the year and went 432 feet to left field.

Ethan Swidler made it 2-0 for the Huskies in the second, driving in a run on an RBI double. Following an unearned run in the third, Washington plated a fourth run in the fourth inning on a Sam DeCarlo double to make it 4-1 in favor of the Dawgs.

Noah Kenney threw four innings while allowing just one run, but the Ducks found footing midway through the game. They scored two in the fifth and two in the sixth to take a 5-4 lead.

Oregon then scored four in the seventh and added one more in the eighth.

In total, Kenney finished with 6.0 innings pitched, eight hits, five runs, one walk, and eight strikeouts. Liam Lierman, Bryce Johnson, and Jay Miller each pitched in relief with the latter two not allowing a hit while striking out three.

Jackson Hotchkiss and Ethan Swidler led the Husky hitters, each going 2-3 with a walk. DeCarlo also chipped in a pair of hits, going 2-4 at the plate.

Washington will look to bounce back on Sunday against Oregon. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Husky Ballpark.
