
Wilson Homers Twice As Huskies Close Road Trip With a Windy City Win

CHICAGO β Washington wrapped up its Midwestern road trip with a win on Monday, defeating UIC 15-8. Three home runs for the Huskies, including two from Blake Wilson, powered the offense to its fourth 11+ run game in the last five contests.

With the win, Washington improves to 25-21 on the season.

Washington scored in the first, but UIC took a 2-1 lead after plating runs in the second and third innings.

The Diamond Dawgs responded with 12 unanswered runs between the fourth and eighth innings, jumping out to a 13-2 lead. Blake Wilson provided four RBI from two two-run home runs.

His pair of homers doubled his home run total. Wilson now has four on the year.

Braeden Terry also tallied a two-run shot in the fifth inning to put the Huskies up 5-2. It was his fourth home run of the season as well.

Trevor Kole, Casen Taggart, and Wilson each had three hits in the game to lead the Huskies. Jackson Hotchkiss chipped in two knocks and scored three runs, the most of any player on Monday.

Tommy Brandenburg earned his third-straight victory, improving his record to 3-4 on the season. It was also his third start in a row tossing 5.0 innings.

He allowed four hits and two runs while striking out four batters.
