SEATTLE – The wait is over and the outdoor season arrives in full for the Huskies this weekend, as they make the annual trek to the Bay Area for the Stanford Invitational. Action goes all day Friday, Apr. 4, with a shorter slate of events on Saturday afternoon, Apr. 5, at Cobb Track & Angell Field.
The meet will not be streamed this year, but live results will be provided as usual.
Friday is an endurance test for track fans and meet staff, as the first event starts at 9 a.m. and the last running event is not scheduled to wrap up until after 11 p.m. UW will see its first competition of the year in several events specific to the outdoor season, including the javelin, hammer, discus, steeplechase, and 10,000-meters.
Saturday gets going in the field at 10 a.m. and on the track for the Huskies at 1:10 p.m. and will wrap up on the track with 4x4 relays at 4:30 p.m. and in the field with the women's discus collegiate section at 5 p.m.
Several Huskies who earned All-America honors at the NCAA Indoor Championships three weeks ago will be starting their outdoor seasons this weekend, including the dominant top-two NCAA Indoor pole vaulters, Amanda and Hana Moll. Individual NCAA scorers Chloe Foerster, Ronan McMahon-Staggs, and Justin O'Toole are all slated to race, along with Second Team All-American Kyle Reinheimer, and DMR All-Americans Mia Cochran, Anna Terrell, Claire Yerby, Julia David-Smith, Leo Daschbach, Rhys Hammond, Martin Barco, and Bodi Ligons.
