SEATTLE – In the final week of "regular season" for the Huskies this indoor track season, they will send a small group of runners on the road to two locations, looking to chase NCAA Indoor qualifying marks. A men's squad will travel to Fayetteville, Ark. for the Arkansas Qualifier on Friday, and two women's milers are bound for Boston and the Saucony Battle for Boston meet on Sunday.
The men are first and foremost seeking an NCAA qualifying time in the distance medley relay on Friday. Very few of the presumed contenders in that event, including UW, have raced yet this season, and this weekend figures to see a flurry of activity in the DMR. That race will kick things off on Friday at 11:30 a.m. Pacific time. No live stream will be available in Fayetteville.
After the DMR, the Dawgs do have a few more individual entries, including Alex Rhodes in the 400-meters, and Tyler Bilyard, Owen Powell, and Josiah Tostenson in the 800-meters.
Sunday, it will be one and done for the Dawgs in Boston as Mia Cochran and Julia David-Smith both try to improve their standing in the NCAA in the women's mile. They are set to race at the BU Track & Tennis Center at 4:35 p.m. Pacific time. Flotrack will be streaming the meet. Cochran currently ranks 23rd nationally with her 4:30.98 PR and David-Smith sits 49th at 4:34.95.
