Huskies Travel to Tempe for Diablos Collegiate Invitational

SEATTLE - The No. 66 University of Washington Men's Tennis Team (5-4) returns to play this Friday, Feb. 27th and Saturday, Feb. 28th, after a weekend off in the aftermath of the doubleheader against Santa Clara and Portland State back on February 14th.
The Huskies are set to travel to the Kiwanis Tennis Center in Tempe, Arizona, for the Diablos Collegiate Invitational, where hosts No. 11 Arizona State have invited No. 29 Arizona, No. 51 Liberty, No. 63 Boise State, Michigan State, Tulane, No. 31 UC Santa Barbara, and the No. 66 Huskies to all play in a round-robin style meet. The Dawgs will play three matches over the weekend, all dependent on outcomes from around the invitational.

Husky Stats of Note
Holding down the number one and number two spots, Soham Purohit and Stephane Kamendje are both on a six-match unbeaten run in singles, with each holding a four-match winning streak coming into the weekend. Combined the Husky No. 1 and No. 2 are 12-2 in all matches this season. At No. 3, sophomore Rohan Belday is 4-2 on the year, missing a pair of matches earlier in the season. From the No. 5, freshmen Hyeonseok Seo and Daniel Bien are a combined 5-4 on the season.
At Doubles, Brett Pearson and Soham Purohit are on a five-match unbeaten streak and are currently ranked at 42nd nationally. While Stephane Kamendje and Nikola Plavsic are 4-3 on the year from the No. 2.
Husky History at the Diablos College Invitational
The Huskies will play in the Diablos for just the second time in the fourth year of this tournament, having made the trip last season, where they went 1-2 in three matches over the weekend, defeating Utah State 4-0, then dropping matches against Arizona and Boise State.
Washington vs Liberty History
Your Huskies are set to face the No. 51 Liberty Flames on Friday, the 27th, at 4:00 p.m. PT, and depending on that outcome, will play again Saturday afternoon against teams to be announced. This will be the third meeting between the Flames and the Huskies, with Washington holding a 2-0 lead all-time in the series.
Scouting the Flames
Liberty enters the weekend ranked at 51st in the nation with a 4-5 record and zero ranked singles or doubles players. The Flames are coming off a weekend of play that saw them go 0-2 in matches in Eugene, Ore., against Portland and the Ducks.

Arizona (7-3) enters the weekend ranked as 29th in the nation, with four members of the Wildcat team ranked in singles play at No. 5, 54, 88, and 97.
Arizona State (10-3) enters the weekend ranked as 11th in the nation, without any players ranked in both doubles and singles play.
Boise State (8-3) enters the weekend ranked as 63rd in the nation, without any players ranked in both doubles and singles play.
UC Santa Barbara (6-4) enters the weekend ranked as 31st in the nation, with one player ranked in singles play at No. 34.
Michigan State (1-5) enters the weekend unranked, with one player ranked in singles play at No. 11 and a ranked doubles pairing at No. 44.
Tulane (3-2) enters the weekend unranked, with a single doubles pairing coming in ranked at No. 43.
