2016: Competed three times in the javelin, with a best toss of 125-1 at the Ken Shannon Invite … scored at the UW-WSU Dual in third-place with a throw of 118-2 … eighth in the javelin at the Pepsi Team Invite, throwing 122-4.
2015: Competed three times in the javelin before missing the remainder of the season with an injury … best throw came at the Stanford Invitational as she tossed 128-6 … took fourth at the Pepsi Team Invitational with a mark of 125-1 … earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.
2014: Competed in the javelin during her first season, breaking into the UW career top-10 list in her first meet … threw at the Pac-12 Championships, finishing 14th overall with a toss of 125-4 ... opened the season with a PR toss of 141-feet even, putting her 10th in school history … next best throw was 137-2 at the UW-WSU Dual, finishing fourth … also tossed the javelin 136-10 at the Washington Open to finish third.
High School and Personal: Full name Koryn Cortena Andrus … born in Lake Tapps, Washington … parents are Becky and Cory Andrus … has one younger brother, Cole … only competed two years in the javelin after taking it up in her junior season … made the 1A state meet her senior year, finishing second with a best of 124-11 … went on to compete at the USATF Junior Olympics Nationals in North Carolina in July 2013, and finished 10th in the javelin with a career-best throw of 130-7 … won the South Central Athletic Conference javelin title her senior year with a mark of 124-9 … fourth in the javelin at the 2013 Pasco Invite, throwing 127-0 … earned eleven varsity letters competing in track, volleyball, basketball and softball in high school … led the state in digs one season in volleyball, and was named Best Defensive Player on her basketball team … participated in the Running Start program at Central Washington, earning 90 college credits … a National Honor Society and Key Club member, also receiving the President’s Education Award … graduated with a 3.7 GPA.
