
Huskies Complete Day Two Of Candrea Classic

TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 22 Washington softball picked up its second win of the season on day two of the Candrea Classic. The Huskies (2-2) began the day against No. 11 Alabama, falling 7-3 before bouncing back with a 4-1 win over Western Michigan.

Alexis DeBoer sent her first career home run over the center field wall to take an early 3-0 lead in the first.
Alabama responded with seven unanswered runs to take the lead and bring the score to its final of 7-3.
The pitchers saw time in the circle with Sophia Ramuno (1-1) getting the start and relief appearances by Rylee Rehbein and Stevie Hansen. The trio combined for eight strikeouts.
WESTERN MICHIGAN 1, #22 WASHINGTON 4
UW got on the board early for the second game in a row with DeBoer's second home run of the day for the 1-0 advantage. She followed it up with a two-run shot in the third.
DeBoer is the first Washington freshman to hit three home runs during opening weekend since Olivia Johnson in 2022. Through four games DeBoer is hitting .385 with three home runs, six RBI.
Jadyn Glab brought across the fourth run on a sacrifice fly to drive in Gabi Toney.
Western Michigan brought in its lone run in the seventh via a two-out error.
Morgan Reimer (1-1) picked up her first career win, tossing a complete game. She struck out five with one unearned run allowed and four hits.
UW concludes the Candrea Classic on Sunday against No. 16 Arizona at 10:30 a.m. PT. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with live stats available at HuskyStats.com.
