SEATTLE – Washington's annual SoCal double meet week is up once again, as the Huskies head down to the Mt. SAC Relays (in Walnut) and the Bryan Clay Invitational (in Azusa) for a jam packed week. It begins on Wednesday at Mt. SAC with two Huskies in their first multis of the outdoor season: Teko Cates in the decathlon and Sofia Cosculluela in the heptathlon.
Day one of the multis starts at 10 a.m. Pacific on Wednesday at Hilmer Lodge Stadium for Cosculluela, an All-America First Teamer last year in the heptathlon, and for Cates, going for his first collegiate decathlon after several standout individual event performances.
Thursday will bring those multis to conclusion, and also at Mt. SAC, the Husky javelin throwers will look to build on their excellent season openers from Stanford.
Also on Thursday, a few Huskies kick things off at Bryan Clay at Cougar Stadium. Isaac Briggs, Cruize Corvin, and Josephine Welin will all race in the steeplechase, and Tyrone Gorze will run a 10k.
From there, Friday and Saturday will be full go at both locations. The distance runners will mainly compete at Bryan Clay, with the 800-meters and 5,000-meters in focus on Friday, and the 1,500-meters the highlight of Saturday.
Sprinters, jumpers, vaulters, and throwers will all take the stage at Mt. SAC on Friday and Saturday.
