FULLERTON, Ca. – The #2 Washington Huskies rode their hot bats to a 7-2 win over the Cal State Fullerton Titans in the final game of the Judi Garman Classic. Baylee Klingler had an incredible day, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate to match her career high in hits. The Huskies are 19-2 on the season after this weekend.

The game's first five runs came before the first out of the second inning was recorded. That 3-2 Husky lead held until another big sixth inning: Washington scored four times, all with two outs, to expand its lead.

Though Washington briefly fell behind 2-0, that deficit lasted just three batters: Klingler, SilentRain Espinoza, and Kelley Lynch all reached base in the second inning, with Lynch's home run putting the Dawgs up for good. That trio drove in six of Washington's seven runs in the game.

Brooke Nelson came on in relief and was excellent in her first collegiate win. She retired seven batters in a row after Fullerton knocked two singles in the freshman's first inning of work. After a single ended that streak, Nelson immediately retired five more in a row. She would throw 1-2-3 innings three times, ending the game with a perfect seventh.

		SCORING
First Inning: Fullerton hit a two-run home run that stayed just barely within the rightfield foul pole for the early lead. Second Inning: For the second game in a row, Lynch went yard on an 0-2 count, this time a three-run shot after she hit a grand slam in the day's earlier game, against #11 Michigan. Sixth Inning: With two on via free passes, Bates added to the Husky lead. Her line-drive single to right made it 4-2. That opened the floodgates, as Washington scored three more times, all with two outs.

Lynch (1x3, HR, 4 RBI) has 12 extra-base hits before Pac-12 play, a mark matched by just three Husky freshmen ever: Kylee Lahners, Kristen Rivera, and Jaime Clark. Only eight Husky freshmen have hit more home runs in their first full season than Lynch has already hit in her first 20 games. Lynch broke the Husky record for most RBI in a freshman's first 20 games. The previous record of 23 RBI was set by Jaime Clark in 2000. Nelson (6.0 IP, 3 H, 4 K) has a 0.95 ERA in her last three relief appearances. Klingler (4x4, R, RBI) extended her hitting streak to five games, with multiple hits in four straight. Klingler is hitting .600 with ten runs and 15 RBI in her last ten games. Reynolds (0x3, R, 2 BB) had her five-game hit streak end but is now on a 29-game on-base streak. In 11 games batting leadoff, Reynolds has 11 hits and 13 walks. Atlee (1x2, BB) is hitting .500 when hitting ninth in the order.

Washington heads back to California next weekend as they will play in the San Jose State/Santa Clara Tournament.
